First book's 1st birthday reflection

On this day, the 6th of July 2022, I nervously pressed the Publish button on the e-book for The Book I Owed to Myself.

Little did I know what it will spiral into. All I knew back then was that I finally was being brave enough to put my poems, my best or at least favourite stories in verses over the past 10 years out there in the world. For people to see and readers to read.

My first reaction to what I had done was stunned. After all the selecting of the fonts, the cover design versions, the discussions about the content page. Starting with the e-book and moving on to the hardcover with bonus poems and disclaimers. Everything that me and my designer had achieved with the support, advice and encouragement of my dear friend Ag. My absolutely first feeling was to not to tell anyone.

But then the overwhelm passed and all I wanted for my book, was for it to have a life out there. For people to see it, touch it, immerse in it, think about their own lives with it, travel with it and see the world with it.

And this is now, the year later, and I am going through a strange whirlwind of my first book again. It reminded of how much of the book is still me, my memories, my history, my feelings, a lot of the things from my life that made me who I am now. So to cope with all that, I thought - let's celebrate!

Me and my designer, we have prepared a few things here and there. Check out the Links post for more info! (It will get updated if and when items are out of stock. It also might get archived after the festivities are all over and done with.)
